Prof. Dr. Christoph Schmitz, MD
Prof. Dr. Christoph Schmitz, MD, holds Chair II at the Department of Anatomy, Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich. He is a scientific advisor for the “sportärztezeitung” and the scientific director of the continuing education series “Shockwave Therapy & Complementary Methods.”
In addition to his research on changes in the brain of patients with schizophrenia and autism, Prof. Schmitz is deeply involved in researching the treatment of various conditions of the musculoskeletal system using extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) and, more recently, autologous stem cells. His focus is on elucidating molecular and cellular mechanisms and their applicability in daily practice. Prof. Schmitz has extensively published on these topics with colleagues from all five continents; currently, nearly 200 of his publications are indexed in PubMed. Two of his publications on ESWT for plantar fasciitis and knee osteoarthritis have received the highest rating ever achieved for ESWT studies in the PEDro database, with 9 out of 10 possible points.
Daniel Rhys Morgan
Daniel Rhys Morgan is a highly qualified and experienced Sports Chiropractor with a broad range of skills in the field of musculoskeletal health. He has a Masters of Chiropractic, a Masters of Sports and Exercise Medicine, and a Postgraduate Certificate in Musculoskeletal Ultrasound, among many other qualifications. He is an Internationally Certified Chiropractic Sports Practitioner and a Fellow of both the Royal College of Chiropractors and the Royal College of Chiropractors Sport and Exercise Faculty.
Daniel is highly skilled in a range of techniques, including spinal and extremity manipulation, instrument-assisted soft tissue manipulation, dry needling, acupuncture, kinesiology taping, low-level laser therapy, and shockwave therapy. His clinical experience includes working as a Sports Chiropractor at Beaches Chiropractic, as well as serving as a locum Chiropractor at Uplands Chiropractic.
Daniel has also conducted extensive research in the field of musculoskeletal health, including leading research projects in partnership with various football clubs. He is a member of several professional associations, including the British Chiropractic Association, where he serves as the Chair of the Student and New Graduate Committee. He has also received numerous awards, including the Grahame Heale Memorial Award and the British Chiropractic Association Associate of the Year award. With his extensive knowledge and experience, Daniel Rhys Morgan is a highly skilled and dedicated professional in the field of musculoskeletal health and sports chiropractic.
Robert Shanks
Robert Shanks -As Co-founder and director Robert is part of the driving force behind our multidisciplinary approach. Robert has been strongly influenced by his mother, a chartered physiotherapist with 40 years’ experience. Robert graduated as an Osteopath in 2000 and subsequently furthered his education with postgraduate courses in medical acupuncture, electrotherapy and clinical Pilates (with the renowned Australian Physiotherapy and Pilates Institute). Among Robert’s special interest is the management of patients with chronic low back pain prompting him to have published a book on the subject aimed at being a detailed guide for patient’s (and physical therapy students) trying gained better understanding of the non surgical and surgical options; BACK PAIN DECODED, available in print (and on Kindle) from Amazon. Robert is also involved with the education and support of other practitioners and clinics, he is UK lecturer and trainer on Class IV Laser Therapy, Shockwave Therapy, TECAR Therapy, and spinal MRI analysis. In 2024 Robert was appointed chairman of the Waltham Forest Osteopathic Group (comprised of Osteopathy clinic owners and associates in the Waltham Forest area).
Per Nymann Andersen
Per Nymann Andersen, based in Tromsø, Norway, is a specialist in Sports Physiotherapy and Chiropractic Care. With extensive sports medicine experience, he served as the Medical Head for elite volleyball and football teams, including Hungary’s national football team. Holding a Doctor of Chiropractic degree, he’s also an adept educator, teaching Anatomy and Pathophysiology. Notably, he supervised the IOC at the 2014 Sochi Olympics and is an international lecturer on shock wave therapy. His diverse expertise marks him as a key figure in global sports medicine and education, contributing significantly to the advancement of the field.
Mike Kennedy
Mike Kennedy – Lead physiotherapist Mike is a highly specialised Chartered Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist having had 8 years of involvement in the Physiotherapy industry, working across a number of environments including the NHS, Private Sector and Professional Sport. Mike holds a Bsc (Hons) Physiotherapy degree and an MSc in Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. He is also a member of the Health & Care Professions Council and the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.
One of Mike’s keen interests is the transfer of physiotherapy practice into functional activity and sport. In order to accomplish this, all patients are screened to identify movement dysfunction and areas of weakness. A structured rehabilitation programme focusing on the injury coupled with a global conditioning programme, not only provides symptom relief and recovery, but also ensures that the patient does not breakdown once returning to their chosen activity.
John Ostrovskis
John Ostrovskis – With a special interest in the treatment of climbing and running injuries, John has been featured in a variety of industry specific publications, including features in ‘Climber Magazine’ on the management of climbing specific injuries, as well as a mention in Dave MacLeod’s ground breaking climbing injury book ‘Make or Break’.
This interest spans beyond academic intrigue; John is a keen athlete, regularly packing his free time with a schedule of swimming and running, and spent many years hanging off bouldering walls and gritstone faces. This first hand experience in a variety of pursuits gives him further understanding of the problems faced by those with sports focused lives.
With a constant curiosity and determination to provide the best possible treatment for his many clients, John continues to push boundaries in the industry; recently, he has completed a University PGC is MSK Sonography and continues to fine tune his expertise in the pioneering Extracorporeal Shockwave Therapy.
Keith Graham
Keith Graham – Keith qualified as a Chartered Physiotherapist in 1994 and spent most of the next 21 years working in musculoskeletal and sports medicine. In 2006, he moved to the South West where he met Tim Button working for the first team at Bath Rugby – they both enjoyed being part of the Premiership club’s victory over Worcester in the European Challenge Cup final in 2008.
Since then, Keith has worked at the University of Bath’s Sports Injuries Clinic and more recently in the NHS in Bristol, specialising in musculoskeletal triage services, diagnosing, scanning and advising patients who have been referred for an orthopaedic consultation.
Thomas Maier
Thomas Maier is a physiotherapist, OMPT-DVMT | HP-PT, and internationally recognized manual therapist (IFOMPT) with his own practice in Landshut (TMPHYSIO Mühleninsel).
Leanne Gilles
Leanne Gilles -That passion for staying strong led me to the world of physiotherapy after graduating with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from the University of Teesside in 2003. I honed my skills in the NHS, working across both acute and community settings, gaining a deep understanding of both musculoskeletal and neurological conditions.
In 2008, I decided to bring that knowledge and passion to my own community by opening my clinic. Here, I’ve had the privilege of helping people of all ages overcome pain and limitations. Over the years, I’ve developed specialised assessment and treatment techniques, including shockwave therapy, acupuncture, and a toolbox of other therapies to get you back on your feet (or bike, or hiking trail!).
But it’s not just about the treatments in my clinic. I believe in empowering you to take charge of your own health. That’s why I always provide personalised exercise programs and self-care strategies so you can stay strong and active long after you leave my practice.
Robbie Caraher
Robbie Caraher – Robbie graduated in 2002 from Manchester School of Physiotherapy. He started his career in the NHS for 2 years, where he cemented his undergraduate training with additional work at Bolton Wanderers in the academy. He then got a dream move to Celtic F.C were he worked as the head academy physio. Robbie is not only highly qualified in his profession, but also an athlete competing at the highest level of intensity. Robbie is an Iron Man competitor, a gruelling challenge that comprises of a 3.8km swim, a 180km bike ride and a 42km run. He is currently training to compete in his third Iron Man challenge. Through his knowledge of training, Robbie can guide sports enthusiasts in the right direction, through postural and biomechanical realignment, remaining injury free and ensuring they undergo proper rehabilitation.
Adam Smith
Adam Smith – Adam is a highly skilled podiatrist with a broad range of skills. While he undertakes all facets of podiatry, he specialises in managing musculoskeletal and sports injuries, performing surgery, and facilitating wound healing. Since qualifying in 2009, Adam has practised in both NHS and independent settings. For the NHS he ran solo clinics, worked within advanced multidisciplinary teams, and established and managed acute podiatry services within the NHS. In 2018, he co‑founded his own practice with his wife, Johanna, located in Prestonpans.
Professionally, Adam has been recognised for his contributions to podiatry. He is a Fellow of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (RCPSG), a former Council Member of the Royal College of Podiatry, the current Independent Practice Group representative for Scotland, and Chair of the Edinburgh and Lothian Branch of the Royal College of Podiatry. He serves as a podiatrist for Hibernian FC in Scotland, working with both the men’s and women’s first‑team squads, as well as other players in his clinic. He is also a CASE‑accredited lower‑limb musculoskeletal ultrasound sonographer.
